Life get’s so busy. From going to work, socialising and planning projects, it’s easy to get caught up in these things. Setting time aside for silence and spending quiet moments with God is nourishing. David said in Psalm 62:1, “Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him.” In the Bible, Jesus spends alone time with God providing a model for you and me. In Mark 1:35, “very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.” You can pray, play to worship music or just listen for God’s voice as a way of enjoying His presence. I’ve learnt that in the midst of hectic schedules and tiredness, God’s presence gives me perspective and it refreshes my mind.
Whatever you’re doing this week, give yourself some time to relax even if it’s for a moment. Do something that you enjoy, and sleep if that’s what you need.
I know it’s hard for some of us to find time to do all things, but your mind and your body will thank you for finding the calm in life’s busy moments.
I pray that you find rest in God’s presence. Amen.
